Ornaments Collection

The collection Ornaments is inspired by traditional Korean art that has been used for centuries to characterize architecture, paintings, sculptures and artifacts of various types. In particular, this decorative style called danchong, can be admired in the complex and brilliant patterns that enrich the surfaces of Korean Buddhist temples. Each building is distinguished by its style, which can be traced back to specific places, times and functions. In fact, these designs are not simple decorations, but ancient artistic techniques used to improve the conditions of the temples themselves, to correct imperfections and to protect them from atmospheric events. The patterns and colors contain references to values and elements of Korean culture based on the concept of yin and yang and on the Theory of the five elements. In a harmonious and unique whole, this art blends and combines perfectly with the context, natural or urban, in which it is inserted, remaining a fundamental pillar of Korean tradition, also implemented in modern projects of various kinds. At the center of the revisitation is the Korean national emblem, the Gukga Munjang, the union of the hibiscus flower (Mugunghwa) surrounding the red and blue circle (Taegeukgi), both symbols of Korean tradition, respectively mentioned in the national anthem and present on the flag.

Ornaments It is inspired by the motifs and colours that decorate Korean Buddhist temples with unique designs rich in meaning and symbolism.
