Elements Collection
The collection Elements graphically interprets the decomposition of the Korean flag, called Taegeukgi. The elements and colors represented have a double meaning, governmental and traditional. From the governmental point of view, white represents the national territory, the red and blue circle the people, and the combinations of black bars, the government. Traditionally, however, the individual elements symbolize the dual force that regulates the universe, balancing it in an infinite cycle of creation, change and development. White expresses the peaceful nature of the Korean people, the red and blue circle (taegeuk) symbolizes yin and yang, as the contrast of light and shadow, good and bad, active and passive, while the four black trigrams (sagwe), are linked to the natural elements, the seasons and the cardinal points. The posters that make up the collection derive from these last meanings Elements, divided into air (geon), water (gam), earth (gon) and fire (ri).
